Based on the candidates currently ahead, we’re on track for a huge increase in the percentage of women in the House of Reps in the 48th Parliament. Currently women are ahead in 70 of 150 seats, which would mean 46.7% women, up from 38.4% after the last election. #insiders #auspol

Thanks Blair! To clarify, that cake shows the parliament after the 2022 election, but I’ll be making one for the new parliament as soon as the results are finalised! In the meantime, here’s the House of Reps chamber before election day and at about 10:30pm on election night, with 13 seats undecided:
