As of the budget release, the Dept of Finance has collected $650k in fines, a tad over 50% of the total fines issued.
Expect these figures to balloon next year, as the Mayor's initial budget proposal forecasts $44 million in fines, expanding scope to capture meter and street cleaning violations.

I would guess this has more to do with the loss of 4+ family households than the addition of 3+ bedroom supply? Also would be curious to see the difference between existing and available units of each type. I can imagine a not-insignificant supply of larger houses being occupied by empty nesters.

So I know there are some projects called out explicitly in the bill, but otherwise under the new structure it will be up to NITA to allocate these funds, and they’re available for both operating and capital projects, right?
