Congratulations to Acadia's Dr. Emily Lockhart who has received a SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant with co-applicant Allison Smith to work with the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia (LISNS) to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth who have experience technology-facilitated sexual and gender-based violence.

We mourn the loss of Dr. Jim Sacouman, former professor of the Acadia Sociology Department. Dr. Sacouman was with the Department of Sociology for 38 years and was a past chief negotiator to the Acadia University Faculty Association.

Dr. Elisabeth Rondinelli will join the Acadia Department of Sociology in January 2025. She earned her PhD in Sociology from York University, and currently researches youth culture, education, gender-based violence, and state policy related to gender equality. Welcome to Acadia Dr. Rondinelli!
