Despite her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University in chemistry and biology, research experiences at the Cleveland Clinic, and a summer of preparing for the exam, she was terrified. “I did not have any confidence at all that I could do well on that test, like none. So I canceled it, and I said, ‘Okay, so what can I do?’” What followed was more than a decade of work in research, academia, and even advising medical students, before Gore Panter took the leap again herself. “A lot of us have these really big dreams or thoughts on what we can do, we can fix everything, and unfortunately, healthcare isn’t set up that way. So [it’s about] finding where you think you really can contribute.”

As RFK Jr.'s Senate confirmation hearing takes place today, we want to reiterate our absolute opposition to the nomination. We are calling on our Ohio senators, Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted to stand up for medicine and vote against this appointment.
