Lowering your expectations feels like letting go of some of the closeness, too. Because it means just needing to accept that this person can’t be as big of a part of your life as you want them to be. It’s a really shitty feeling.

Is she more present for phone calls or in person hangouts? I always struggle with dynamics like this, but try to be okay with it if they’re really present for phone calls or so.
