(5/6) I know trans kids at the middle and high school afraid to be who they are. Teachers were already not allowed to use their correct names and pronouns without permission due to Parents’ Bill of Rights. Now we may not be able to honor the wishes of the parents who know that love is unconditional.

(4/6) I see parents refuse to open the door when school staff do home visits to provide support. They are unsure of who we are and now opening the door to strangers could lead to tragedy.

(3/6) I know our students are scared. They are in a system that already sometimes neglects them despite the best efforts of the people working at the school, and now the future is even more uncertain for them.

(2/6) I’m thankful that the many flags representing all of the countries of origin for our students are hanging on display on the walls. We had complaints when they were first hung. I’m glad we ignored them then, but now I wonder for how much longer they will be allowed.
