Snapped this Karearea from my backyard. Camera couldn't quite handle the zoom required but cool to see nonetheless

Wright's hill really does give the best view of Wellington. Crazy a city this good is even allowed to exist.

Staghorn ferns are unique in that they might just be the only eusocial plant!

A single "colony" of staghorn ferns exhibit division of labour, maintain a communal resource and exhibit reproductive skew!

Absolutely GOATED tour this evening. Always good to see one giant wētā, let alone 3 (the 2 in the second image may be mating??)

Saw the leucistic tūī at Zealandia again today - but couldn't snap a picture.

I notice that this individual is a lot more skittish, never hanging around in one place very long. Is this is a common survival mechanism for leucistic birds?

Tūī comparison for reference

Super proud to have been a part of the hīkoi today. Te tiriti o Waitangi is bigger than this government, and the voice of the people is more powerful than Seymour's twisted words.

Thought I'd get back into reading properly.

Surely this 750 page classic is a nice way to ease back into it
