maybe the less navel gaze-y way to frame it is this: the marketplace doesn’t eliminate the need for art and creativity- instead it makes it rare and urgent. and if you can find ways to help yourself and people around you fulfill this need, you’ll be feeding them as much as if you cooked them a meal

i see it as a service i provide- make art without the rest of the internet in the room with you. create art that you’re proud of that you have absolutely no desire to share online.

(and maybe stubbornly to my own detriment, as i’m way too indifferent to post my own work lmao)
