Competitive races in most districts in most states would do wonders to help restore the moderate middle in American politics. Heavily partisan districts that produce extreme elected officials, who can’t be seen as compromising their party’s position, create dysfunction.

I get the schadenfraude, but I thought earlier in her career that she might offer a more traditionally conservative alternative to Trump. She capitulated as all GOP politicians have. The real tragedy of the Trump era is how he destroyed the principled base of his party.

They see fellow humans as parasites, rather than worthy of help. Value is transactional. Empathy is weakness. This could not be more antithetical to Christ’s teaching.

I’m not endorsing the Satan comment, but anyone who reads the Gospels can’t possibly believe that Jesus would endorse taking food and healthcare from the country’s most needy. Nor would Jesus question whether those needy “deserved” to be fed or cared for.
