Young Frankenstein (1974) and Dracula (1931), last weekend's pre Halloween B&W double feature.

First time watching Dracula, which looked great for a nearly 100-year old film.

Young Frankenstein is an old favorite. Such a good cast.

It seems that on the airport x-ray scanner, kulolo looks very much like explosive materials. The TSA guy had me clocked as a kulolo transporter, but they still had to pull and look inside the bag.

Local wildlife. A nene eyeing me, and a very friendly boxer getting scritches on her wiggly rump.

Sweating my butt off outdoors on a work trip. At least the views make up for it.

It's come to my attention that October 8th is both International Lesbian Day AND World Octopus Day. So #Earpers know what that really means: it's Horny Nicole Haught Day.

Personal favorite memories:

1. @lynnrachels.bsky.social discovering that there was a live mic on the bus.

2. The Didsbury Museum ladies and their home baked goods! Such hospitality.

Got to play dress up like the Village People today, and it's not even Halloween yet!

I'm not a white chocolate or milk tea person, but this was pretty good! Very creamy, not too sweet.

PS Waverley, as seen from the Glasgow Science Centre.

I did not realize it at the time but she is an operating paddle steamer, part of the National Historic Fleet. Looking sharp for a ship pushing 80 years old.

Other stuff. Fish and chips. Pasties, pies, and rolls. Beef shoulder at Makars Mash Bar, where I sat next to a rail-thin girl who methodically laid waste to her gigantic lamb shank with mash, two appetizers, and beer without breaking a sweat. I bet she ordered dessert after I left.

Candies. Surprisingly, the tea cakes won out for me. I'm usually not a marshmallow person but they are so light.

Breakfast: Blood pudding. A really big breakfast with haggis and tattie scone. I think I only missed trying porridge and some square pork sausage thing.

Things I ate in Scotland, a thread.

The obligatory Irn Brus and Tesco sandwich. The Tesco was convenient, but I was really craving a hot lunch after a few days.

Let a visiting coworker use my office while I was away. Came back to find these little critters had taken up residence all over the place.

I think I found them all, but time will tell.

Mickey 17 was recommended by a friend, with no description or background provided. Found myself with a lot of time on my hands, and finally gave it a watch.

Good if you like dark humor! Pattinson did a very nice job as the Mickeys. With Steven Yuen, Toni Colette, and other familiars. #FilmSky 📽️
