Hello gorgeous!!

That's fascinating and also a relief 😂 thank you so much, maybe this will be the year I'll finally read Brandon Sanderson

I never heard of that standalone 😱 will definitely start there, thank you! Aren't his series connected, or am I tripping

I'm so curious about his writing and books. I don't know where I should start. A lot of people say Mistborn is the perfect entryway 🤔

I'm sure it will come with time. When orange man is sworn in or during his presidency, I bet people will be reminded of why they have a bluesky account by his X bestie

Same, and it's been like that for years until it's impossible to ignore. People seem less toxic on threads, but maybe it's just first impressions 😅

The thing is that nowadays the algorithm punishes smaller accounts and it's harder to get noticed. Threads also doesn't seem bad for fandom and book related things, there are more people over there than here

I'm so sorry, I was expecting this to happen tbh, that's why I hesitated coming here at the beginning. Twitter is too addictive when you've had a community there for a while... but if you'd like to try finding other people in other apps, ig is not that bad.

I feel this. First year ever, I didn't rate a single book 5 stars 😪 I'm avoiding CC3 like the plague 😅

BUT twitter takes toxicity to another level. While on IG, most people show their best side, people on twitter often show the ugliest side of their personality. It's kinda fascinating. And it's always been like this.

In conclusion, twitter's (and other social media) business model: parasocial relationships with other users, capitalisation on repetitive discourse and questionable takes, dopamine rush created by interactions.

I feel less crazy now that I don't use it as much 😅 and the engagement or interactions can feel so fake in the scheme of things bc although I "met" a lot of people there, I speak with only a few handful regularly and follow very few in other social media platforms.
