Off to the Welsh Stroke Conference #WSC2025. A great programme and lots of lovely people from the Wales stroke scene and beyond. Posters from our ABUHB Inpatient Stroke Rehab team and our Neurostute Neuro Recovery College. Also my 1st opportunity to network with the other Wales AHPs in Stroke !!

I love that strategy Ronan. You can get a walking stick that shoots out a line of light on the floor that works in a similar way in case you don't have someone with you to put something on the floor for you. And you're absolutely right about the brain,clever thing, so many ways it can go wrong

Another fantastic session with the newly renamed Gwent Stroke Voices (formerly known as the Stroke Reference group). Rich discussion about many important stroke related matters and a great personal explanation of the Spoon Theory of Fatigue management. Also our regular donation of exercise balls

Fascinating account of the journey of Derek Maling who survived when his plane was brought down in 1944 in Jugoslavia. He was supported to safety over the next few week. His daughter has painstakingly traced his steps and brings this amazing story to life using Derek's diaries and local memories

Our new year party is also our friend's birthday party, pretty sure he'll like his present
