Right now Pete is the best that Dems have to offer. Young, smart, articulate, charismatic. I wish they pushed harder to raise his profile.

Messiah complex much?

As much as I am against trump, he did win both electoral and popular votes. Trying to annul the election would be the non-democratic thing to do.

The best way to force compliance of the standards when people don't take them seriously is to abuse them as much as possible, to the level of absurdity. At that point, a new consensus about their usefulness might form again and compliance will return.

No, this means that there is a new playing field. We must play to win, old standards be damned. Those that fail to adapt will succumb to evolution.

Life without hyperfixations would be a life of being dead on the inside.

Why is this even an issue? Biden can pardon anybody he wants. No need for any justifications. And repubs can do nothing about it. Let them whine all they want.

The strategic mistake is not making a bunch of noise (flood the media) about an obviously political prosecution now that the spotlight is on them. Will the dems ever learn to play in modern politics?

So paladin is like the best class ever in all brackets in both DPS and tank specs? I have a feeling the nerf hammer is coming.

I think that one of the reasons that trump won was the general lack of authenticity by the dems. And this pledge to not pardon was just another sign that Biden (and Dems by proxy) wouldn't even fight for his family, let alone his voters.
December 2, 2024 at 8:28 PM
I am glad he did it too. My reaction when Biden pledged not to do it was more along the lines of "my dude, really, the politics are more important to you than family?". I thought that pledge was very selfish.

It's the extremely off-putting snobby sense of superiority that a lot of dem politicians and pundits emanate. Might be ok in Europe, but Americans hate this shit.
December 2, 2024 at 7:54 PM
I don't understand what does trump have to do with bidens pardon. Pardons at the end of the term have always been sleazy political favor-granting, borderline unethical acts that all outgoing presidents I remember engaged in. Clinton, bush, obama, trump and now biden...they all did it.

The open and behind the scenes machinations that determine and enable the direction of governance.

Wouldn't they just move out of the country to Monaco or another tax haven? Like a lot of the athletes these days?

I always considered stuff that I post on social media to be owned by the platform (i.e. I am the content). This kinda goes against musks argument about free speech... How can it be free speech of it's owned by corporation that runs the platform and not the person that produces such speech?

Or it can be looked at as the ultimate triumph of democracy. What's really bad, is that unchecked power of the executive branch was left untouched after all of his abuses during the first term. Nothing was done over the last 4 years to make sure such stuff does not happen again....

Her campaign was very bland. I am still not sure what she ran on other than she's not the orange guy. And the whole saving the democracy argument while running an appointed candidate was pure idiocy by the dem party. Not very compelling arguments to get people out to vote.

I have ADHD with delayed sleep phase. Cannot get to sleep before 3 am. I struggled with going to sleep at night and being productive in the mornings since I was a child. Another co-morbidity, especially in men, are migraines.

To be fair, tesla does not make a car that is practical in rural areas where musk/trump supporters are concentrated.
