Thanks for sharing this beautiful story. My parents raised at least 20 guide dogs as a "puppy walker" family for the Guide Dog Foundation of Smithtown, NY. Attending graduation ceremonies when dogs began life with their blind partners was a highlight of my youth. Humans best friends indeed!

Despite the years of razzing, band kids were always the cool ones. We let the jokes roll off our backs and we didn't peak in high school- but we were cool for the long haul! Way to go!

Ohhh- my dearly departed Dad is looking down and loving this! He was swift with a red pen on homework and even sent back corrections to teacher comments on my report cards. He also correctly labeled the orange menace as a "total buffoon" years ago. Miss you Dad.

We need a strong leader, period! Booker led a filibuster in the Senate. Booker and Jefferies led a sit-in on the capital steps. AOC and Sanders are out in the country having town halls, getting the Democratic message across in red areas that may have never heard it before. THAT is leadership!
