Mom, knitter, nature lover, murderer of invasive plants. Happiest in a chaotic garden.
I just bought a mountain bike. I haven’t had a bike since I was 9.

Fully prepared to both suck AND get hurt. 😁

Perfect yarn choice for the scarf! Lovely

The Saudis are also apparently doing this, buying NYC apartments in Trump properties.

There were a number of stories about this real estate deal way back when, but basically the property value is inflated, and it gives Russia a vehicle to move money through Trump in a legal way.

But for more on the how/why:

I love finding those little bits in the wool!

I think after a few washes and more wear it might be less itchy than you’d expect.

It’s actually pretty nice to work with. I got mine on cones, so I washed it prior to use which helped. But yes, seems very warm :)

Had to get something a little tougher than merino this time, kid wore through the elbows of the last one I made him pretty quick 😂

(I don’t mind the office toooo much because I have a reasonable commute, but I don’t see how it really benefits my employer that much, but maybe I’m missing something.)
November 13, 2025 at 11:58 AM
Why though? So much of this work is portable, why is it better to commute and waste gas and pay for upkeep on giant buildings in this day and age?

(I usually hear a lot of vague “collaboration!” stuff but like… the work isn’t done any better in the office as far as I can tell).

They did not.

All they had to do was say “stranded colorwork” instead and it would have been fine.

(Of course, booting the one person attempting to do actual Fair Isle construction technique didn’t help)

I was going to say the show is the crime against humanity lol

(Actually episode 2 is marginally better, despite a horrible graphic explaining knit v crochet that seems to be made by hallucinating AI)

I’ve watched both episodes here (as heavy and ugly site, but it works):

It will be ok, I promise! I have done it with alpaca and mohair, you will just have to go slowly but it will be fine. And worth it!

Looks absolutely fantastic!

Yet somehow there were *just* enough dems to pass it. And miraculously they are reps not in immediate danger of primaries.

This reminds me of how republicans “let” their moderate members vote in opposition to things, but only if they have enough votes to begin with.

Same thing my stepdad used to say. We’d try to change the channel because he seemed to have fallen asleep, but every time, “I was just resting my eyes” so reruns of 1960s westerns it was.

Probationary can mean under two years, depending on agency, as well as anyone promoted to a supervisory level or given a new job series. Some “probationary” employers who were fired had been at their agencies for over 10 years and were let go because of recent promotion. Utter stupidity.

There is a very sweet children’s/family animated movie called “The Star” where the donkey is the central character. I’m not religious but it was sweet and a nice take on the story. :)

The last book I found through Bluesky (Helm) completely stomped on my heart and I adored every minute. Just picked this one up from the library because of your post.

I went and ordered this book based solely on your review of it here. About 3/4 through and wanted to say thank you- I’m enjoying it immensely.
