Who else out there is heading to #ISHF2025?

I'm so excited to visit Dublin for the first time (!) and learn from social housing experts from around the world!

Imagine if, instead of capitulating fully to the Opposition's terms and trying to outflank them on the right, we asserted an unassailable commitment to the policies that keep our communities strong and safe: services, support, diversion, economic enfranchisement?

Well, the first sitting day of the year at #springst has made clear what we all expected: the Opposition wants to fight this election on 'crime', and Labor wants to let them win it.

I talked at length about the submission to the Inquiry into Women’s Pain I was proud to support three formerly incarcerated women to co-author, so I want to share their stories to Bluesky for the first time!

In my advocacy work at Vacro, my biggest project this year was organising the sector (including currently & formerly incarcerated folk) to successfully lobby for a reduction in the cost of phone calls from prison.

We had a small win this year, but this work is far from done.
