turns out neither approach helped with the issue — that’s where the good old fashioned r/SwiftUI subreddit came to my rescue

the solution? creating custom Color Sets in Assets.xcassets — which eliminates the need of reading the user’s colorScheme entirely

turns out tracking the colorScheme (light/dark mode being used by a user) is tricky — especially when working with sheets

fixed quite a lot of the known issues i had noted along the way

loading the app on a personal device helps so much to find bugs in the first place, as opposed to playing around on the simulator

glad we’re back to shorts weather :)
