I spoke with a hurricane modeler who was just fired from the branch of NOAA that keeps weather models running. He got a form letter like hundreds of others telling him he was losing his job in an hour. This bodes very poorly for American forecasting. Gift link: www.theatlantic.com/science/arch...
The Forecast for the Weather Service Is Bad
Layoffs at NOAA will only make weather reports less reliable.

Timeline cleanse! Even after having 8.5" of snow fall on them last week my camellias are blooming beautifully this morning. Flower #2 and Flower #3 are from the same bush -"Lady Vansittart." She's a very tarty camellia! Look at something beautiful today. #camellias #growbeauty
