Happy Anniversary!

Last week, I co-facilitated an OpenSciEd PL workshop w/ LA Ts as a part of a study to investigate the efficacy of OpenSciEd.

I am always impressed by the professionalism Ts bring to their craft. Investing in Ts & their Ss is important, & the opportunity to learn from and with Ts is a privilege.

For the rest of the fiscal year, no new contracts will be issued for STEM Ed, ‘DEIA,’ pathways into STEM, STEM Ed research, climate, environment, or EJ. This Friday, we’re expecting another large tranche of abrupt grant terminations, and the abrupt archiving of at least four more EDU programs. 2/5

Unfortunately, this innovation pipeline, along w many of our democratic institutions, is under attack & we need to speak up. Please urge your legislators to protect educational research funding - it is making a difference for Ss & Ts - we have the data to prove it. 4/4

Our experimental study found significant impacts on Ts’ assessment & teaching practices. Funding allowed us to iterate upon & share our tools & research on our website (5dassessment.org) & nat’l conferences. 3/4

With the support of the National Science Foundation, I have been co-leading a team from BSCS and InquiryHub to design & test the efficacy of an online PL program & suite of tools to help Ts better engage their Ss & support Ss’ identities as knowers, doers, & users of sci. 2/4
