A resin mold would smell and be messy. Try a silicone mold. As far as the button material, resin may work for that, then paint them. But have someone else make the resin dupe.

He's seen it- we've chatted a bit via Facebook and email. I tried to get his approval first, but couldn't connect. He was happy with the results though! He's truly one of my favorites!
