I hike and I take pictures. I am a scientist, not because I "believe" in science but because the rigors of evidence, logic and peer review compel me to trust its results. Science is not a collection of facts but a growing understanding of the universe.
Whether or not he's a Russian asset, what would he be doing differently?

"Adolf Hitler understood this and focused on lawyers and judges as potential impediments to his quest for unfettered power. Lawyers, judges, and bar associations are positioned to play a key role in protecting the rule of law when political developments
threaten its integrity."

My heart goes out to those affected by this crash. I flew this route myself when I was teaching in the area. Unalakleet was home to our school district headquarters. And, as the article states, I usually flew with my wrestling and basketball teams to tournaments. apnews.com/article/alas...

I'd suggest my friends give the 1997 BBC series "Nazis: A Warning from History," a watch, particularly the first two episodes, "Nazis - Helped into Power," and, "Nazis - Chaos and Consent." You might find them at your local library. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b...

I got a reminder yesterday that it's time for my annual information security refresher from the government. This struck me as quite funny. THEY just let a private citizen download OPM databases onto private servers and they want ME to take a refresher on information security. That's rich!

With musk's minions running amuck at OPM, I urge my friends who are or ever were federal employees to close or downgrade any accounts you used to receive pay from the federal government. The muskovites have not gone through any vetting process before being given access to very sensitive data.

I am not surprised so many industry giants are lining up at the trough. I suspect they know history. I wish more of us had paid more attention to our history.

When hiking or driving I usually use a GoPro on time lapse. I often cite wildfire as the reason. Last month I drove CA-1 through Malibu. I'm glad I have those photos now, especially after seeing footage from that highway this morning.
