Also, season 3 was their best one so far, with episodes like “The Road to the Spear” being one of the most experimental and brilliantly executed works of contemporary television that I’ve seen. Many people who were previously not aware of the show or into fantasy were just starting to discover it.

I was also left feeling a bit uncomfortable with the stereotypical representation of Scouse men unable to effectively express their emotions and instead having angry outbursts.

The story mainly seems to revolve around issues of social media, bullying, and how that may be connected with the radicalisation or violence by teenagers / young boys toward women. A crisis of masculinity is also suggested. It would have been nice to see the series address all this in more detail.
