2. Nutrition is as important as training.
3. Training should be enjoyable
4. Endurance (easy) intensity is the key.
5. Keep stacking up consistent endurance volume.
And his training week example is given below

Is that also applicable for base training and when is the time to up the work eg from 1000kcal to 1500 and so on

Your advice needed!
Should one do a 5 min all out before a 20 min FTP test or do the test without 5min max . And are zones based on ftp accurate to rely on . Or is there any better test other than the 20min one to assess ftp and training zones for power .

Better to wax the drivetrain it saves a ton of time if you know how to do it properly.
Lube is a mess !!

How can one adjust the algorithm??
Don't know anything about this stuff

The best bang for the buck is to get a decent bike and stop buying nonsense and focus on training instead .
January 12, 2025 at 7:35 AM
IMO if you know the market and value well enough buying a new one is not the wisest choice in fact you are just wasting money which could be used to buy some additional training stuff if you got the same bike used .
My friend was selling a merida aero with the same specs for less than $1000 🤯
January 12, 2025 at 7:30 AM
I also got one used and if you have the right knowledge there are some pretty crazy deals out there .

It's more than sufficient for training as well as racing imo after these specific components it's way less price to performance benefit.

Thanks.
As always helpful 🙂

Is the work of nils van der poel good for cyclists to read and implement ?
Does it follow general advice or specific to ice skating ?

So in summary,

If you really want to improve your health (performance) .

1. Keep the training simple and smart
2. Keep doing those small positive changes in your training compared to last year
3. Get the basics right
4. Listen to the body : it's the most important metric
5. Enjoy your training

What do I mean by realistic and adaptable:

Realistic - Your training goals should be set in accordance with your current fitness and situation.

Adaptable - The training you do should have the potential to change because the future is never known .

• Brick by brick 🧱

Absolutely, the moment the masses realise that what those easy aerobic miles do to the body in comparison to a big bicep the complete scenario can change .

Sir,
I wanted to ask that do devices which make breathing difficult while working out induce any beneficial adaptations??
December 23, 2024 at 1:17 PM
That's an interesting point !
