Ran across a book rec for a book called Hearing Red by Nicole Maser and had to put my other books on hold. Bought it last night and finished it this morning. Excellent Sapphic novel told in a zombie setting. I enjoyed every moment of it.

My current favorite manga is "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All"

I wasn't sure about the style at first because I'd never seen anything like it, but I absolutely love this manga. The characters are cool, the story is fun, and the art is awesome. I love it. 10/10, highly recommend.

As much as I try to remind myself of cultural relativism, it is super hard to ignore the casual racism in a lot of light novels. I can't help but wonder if it is partially an issue with translation when referencing groups that are diverse, but it is hard to ignore.

Currently reading the Chinese light novel Swallowed Star. The translation quality seems pretty good and the story is interesting. No unnecessary face slapping, MC is competent, if a bit OP. I do wish the references to skin color weren't so prevalent since it isn't a plot point, just sticks out.
