Even if it takes place on Christmas again, people are way more likely to want to see a horror movie in the theater in October. The original Gremlins came out in June.

I’m feeling a little gaslit. I thought we were all enjoying it until the very end. And there were plenty of Doctor Who seasons that didn’t stick the landing, but fans didn’t retroactively hate the whole thing.

Agreed. I can’t think of any other book that I’m still mad at like 15 years after reading it. The main character is a mix of every infuriating man I’ve had to deal with in real life and nothing about that was enjoyable or worthwhile.
