Under NITA, we have the opportunity -- nay, the duty -- to make sure the "city's" rail transit agency and the "suburban" rail transit agency stop defending their respective silos.

Regional rail is for the entire region: connectivity by cooperation and coordination, not competition and coincidence.

All you need to know about Chicago is this: we put our literal shit into the Chicago River, which flowed into Lake Michigan, which is where we got our drinking water, and where a lesser city would’ve said “let’s stop throwing our shit into the river” we reversed the flow of the goddamn river instead

Another downside of the “Metra is just for the suburbs” silo that we desperately need to tear down is how many suburbanites end up with a “here be dragons” approach to all city neighborhoods that aren’t adjacent to the downtown train terminals
