Double vase “noodle pets”, wheel thrown and altered.
A thrown donut cut in half. One side is made to look like a dog and the other is made to look like a cat. It is white with underglaze details on the faces. It is clear glaze over a white clay with brown speckles (probably tuckers mid stone speckled.)

Working on a mug. One of my pottery students gave me her bag of clay scraps (because she refuses to wedge!) and she was going to throw out her underglaze transfer scraps. I salvaged both and turned them into this, which I plan to give back to her when it’s done.

Beautiful glaze on this ruffle topped bowl! I am quite pleased with the results! Glaze notes are in the alt text
A large bowl with a swirl in the bottom and a ruffle around the top. I glazed this with three coats of honey flux by Amaco, followed by two coats of chun plum, two coats of blue rutile and two coats of oatmeal.

There is much less pottery left to glaze. A full kiln load is cooling down. I should be able to empty it tomorrow morning.

Inside of bowl textured Amber Brown x3, followed by RHC x2 dots, with iron luster x1 over top. Textured Amber brown x3 on the outside .

Yes, I use it and it helpful. I hand write out my glazing instructions and include them with a photo of my piece which helps me to get consistent results!

Saw a bunch of wildlife down by Turtle Pond. Didn’t manage to get photos of all of them.
A large snapping turtle covered in algae. Its head is sticking out of the water and it looks quite prehistoric. A chipmunk scratches itself with its hind leg. It is sitting on a rock by the side of turtle pond. A great blue heron wades into turtle pond. The water is so still it is reflected in the water.

Mug shot Monday. I made these beauties for myself and am so pleased with how they turned out - hand built with Amaco Blue Rutile.
Two hand made mugs sit on a white background. They have a knit pattern and three small flower shaped buttons. The buttons are glazed white and the rest of the cups are glazed with Blue rutile, which is a medium blue that breaks brown over the textured areas.

A nice day for baking and soup making. Never a good day to disappoint the cats.
A can of tomatoes and a can of chick peas with a can opener on top. A cat that looks less than impressed with a can of tomatoes that definitely doesn’t have tuna juice in it. Disappointing.
