It’s been a slice, Copenhagen, but now it’s time to get to work at the #IIHFWorlds. Always a pleasure and privilege to cover this tournament. Off to Herning we start!

Dan Vladar will play in the #IIHFWorlds as a pending UFA, and drops an all-timer about being willing to risk injury without a contract in hand... with a heck of a reason. #Flames

Buckle up...

Updated standings after tonight's action.

The #Flames need to go 2-0-1 coupled with a Blues loss. A 3-0-0 record coupled with a Minnesota loss or a St. Louis overtime or shootout win would also get Calgary in.

Zayne Parekh wrapped his regular season on the weekend -- finishing with 107 points. That gives him two of the top three most productive seasons by a defenseman in the OHL in the past 30 years. McCauley played forward in junior (per the OHL's Josh Sweetland). #Flames

Here's Wedgewood's insight.

Asked Scott Wedgewood about his stop on Dryden Hunt's breakaway attempt early in the second period. Found his answer to be incredibly insightful in a game-within-the-game type of way.

First, here's the save via the Sportsnet broadcast.

Lost in last night's excitement was the fact Adam Klapka played his best NHL game to date. The 24-year-old scored a beautiful goal, had four shots, laid eight hits, and had a block in 13:26 of ice time. #Flames

Mangiapane, on this exchange (which featured even more comedic relief than shown):

"I was laughing for most of that. Hopefully there was no video or panning to me on that play. That's Razzy for you. He likes to chirp and get under people's skin, and so does Willy. Worked out perfect."

Shoutout to whoever was responsible for the headlines on the #4Nations reveals at @nhldotcom.bsky.social!

Finland's announcement had 'Finnish Laine'.
Team USA's roster had 'American Beauties'.
Canada's reveal is 'Canadian Bakin''.

Didn't catch Sweden, but I'm sure it was sweet, too.
