Tacky. And Bezos took a $5k for childcare on his personal tax return in 2023. Ultrarich = ultra cheapos.

Hey Ed! Thanks for your interest—good Q, it’s via Zoom so probably yes, I’ll find out :)

Damn right!

Nice! Checking out Paketti, looks interesting. Yeah I think we’re double nearly the same thing—plus doing per-hit randomization of a lot of sample parameters simultaneously (inspired by folks like @richard-devine.bsky.social) - then stacking multiple instances of the sampler with different sounds.

And the same device/LFO modulation is applied to Sampler’s filter, drive, spread, envelopes (etc) to give each hit some variation. Because it’s so random, it can be good to give each Sampler a “role” like all kick drums, vocal hits, textures, etc. Then EQ/process them accordingly to work together.

For sure—it’s done w/ stock Ableton + M4L stuff. 3 monophonic Sampler tracks (basically identical), each one has ~100 short samples, distributed evenly across the zone. I use a combination of built-in Sampler device modulation and M4L LFOs to select a new sample for each new note event.

Congrats on the release! Listening now & the sounds are so good ^_^

Oh yeaaa glad u dig — It’s so much fun to set these types of sample-based generators up…some turn into tracks at a point

No flipping way

Also listening to the arc rae! And another one that rhymes with ecstasy :)

Yeah so many VCAs! Didn’t realize it had bright lights. Time Wizard has insanely bright strobe light LEDs but I still love it. Someone mentioned matte nail polish once as a quasi fix, or am I imagining that?

Ooo the horizontal Gliss looks like a good move! Also snazzy blanks. Also how do you like the Zlob VCA? Always looked so cool and so much i/o.
