So it leads me to see masculinity as rooted in vocation - callings both in the home and in the world, which are expressed through the male experience, and can be cultivated by seeing discipleship and apprenticeship as more intertwined than we have typically thought in evangelicalism. 2/2

I think you’re close, but you aren’t using language that actually reflects their understanding. The “Biblical Masculinity “ narrative relies heavily on baptizing male archetypal traits like strength, risk taking, etc. That worldview is compelling to young men but is missing how sin corrupts nature.

I have been thinking about this same question. It led me to search for egalitarian books written specifically to young men about what it means to be a man, within a Christian frame. I found literally none. Closest was “non-toxic masculinity “ which has its place, but isn’t going to connect.
