My hypothesis is that it’s because they were single camera shoots so the lighting and camerawork were dialed in for each individual shot 🤷

I was at the first Gulf War protests in DC in '91. A lot of 60's protest vets were out there thinking the hippie momentum was back. After the first few protests, when were 100's of thousands and relegated to page A18... let's say nobody thought we had enough people power to levitate the Pentagon.
