OTD in 1924: Over 10,000 people and 26 trucks of flowers turn out for the burial of Chicago florist and bootlegger Charles Dean O'Banion, shot by 3 men on November 10th, 1924. A member of the Irish North Side Gang, O'Banion was a rival of Italian gang leader Al Capone. Capone attended the funeral.

Can anyone reccomend a starter pack of accounts focusing on the history of the Interwar Period (1919-1938ish) globally? Accounts with a regional or national focus are also useful, as long as I would be getting a global look at events when viewed collectively.

New-ish to bluesky, displaced from the other place. Still figuring out the ropes. Thank you to everyone putting together the starter packs!
