"While we live, let us live." Clock is in downtown Colorado Springs. Philip Doddridge, a 17th Century nonconformist minister, had the phrase as part of his coat of arms, among other notable usages. I had to look that up, by the way, lest you think I'm snooty.

I saw my home today from about 10,000 feet. Not just the city where I live but the condominium where I live. Not a moon-landing-level event, I realize; it just never happened to me before.

The river fog has been ethereal the last few nights. It has reminded me of the foghorn's origin story. Robert Foulis, a Scottish-Canadian engineer, walking up to his home in the fog at night noticed the low notes were clearer than the high notes from his daughter's piano playing. tiny.cc/foghornRF
