Our sunshine wasn't horrified of big guy's appearance when she saw him during his phase (and before adoption). In fact, she loves him even more than I did and he did nearly everything for her during my absence from home.

I may get bitten to death if I entered our bedroom during his dark phase, usually for months. I did ask him to go outside these time.
but... It's even worse to ask him to go outside and he would likely go to the forest... living like a hungry beast there.
