One of those shows I came in expecting to like. There were some cool scenes in the first episode but it was clear it was gonna be one of those shows that never really answers anything interesting. The lead character is unlikable and I forgot about the show the next day.

What’s the logic? They should stay treading water and not try to survive? If they try to swim is that “staying in the fight” too?

The name makes sense historically. It was the first collection of states in the American continent so the name could only refer to one place. I think the name was an afterthought. It’s annoying though when someone goes to the US from Australia or Can, etc and says “I’m going to America”.

I’m from non-english speaking country in the Americas and people still call people in the USA “americans” as opposed to all other nationalities.
And all of those other “US of” republics are emulations of the USAs system. Mexico has tried to change its name before for this very reason.

It’s very concerning how its advertising has taken over entire industries. Professional athletes are going to jail for using it while the leagues take in stacks of cash from the gambling industry!

A lot of the “new world” republics emulated their structure on what the USA did. The institutional structure of Mexico is almost identical to the USA. In 2012 the Mexican president had a campaign to drop the “Estados Unidos” from the name but it failed.

Why doesn’t it make sense geographically? You can argue it’s a broad term, but its broadness includes the US.

“If only we made those people over there SO MISERABLE then everything else would be better” Is a fantastic way to gather support lol.

For sure I think Raleigh has a compelling case for MVP and that’s what the voting showed. I wouldn’t have thought it was odd if he won it just like I don’t think it’s odd that Judge did. Judge was the second coming because he broke the AL record… He is the greatest hitter in the world

100 points under Judge in OBP and OPS, 80 in BA. Fielding percentage is pretty much the same. Raleigh was amazing, Judge was just better
