So much of modern politics is imagining something that didnt happen and then reacting emotionally as if it had, looking around frantically for someone to do something about the thing that didnt happen

The site I worked for was doing video that year so I helped produce an interview of him through that screen. Our camera pointed at the screen with our oncamera guy standing next to it. Our guy seemed confused that we were interviewing a screen, kept holding the mic up to the screen like he was there

One e3 there was a long queue in the nintendo booth to see a demo or a trailer for something, and the queue area had these screens tied to remote people who could talk to you while you waited. One had charles martinet on there, sitting in some white room, saying hello to randos if they noticed

I really liked that one along with the game where you dismantle decommissioned space ships, two good first person “job simulators”. You have to disable the time limits in the space ship one for it to be fun and not stressful.

Damn when did movies start coming out in movie theaters

those silicon valley hackers needed all that pirate flag rebel cringe stuff to push back against the inhumane treatment of being assigned private offices with closing doors and windows that look out at a national park, these days we know better

One of the most pathetic things I’ve seen in my life was a river north loft condo owner holding up her daughter at a public meeting for a tall apartment building, saying her daughter would grow up not knowing what the moon is because the tower would block her view of it. Tower project was cancelled.

Another Galwegian for president?

Ireland just got a bottle/can deposit system but they call it a scheme. What are they up to?

Sounds like it will be the most important election of our lifetimes, I’d better do everything I’m told to by people who always lose

got the band for you

People desperately wanting weather control to be real always seems cute to me. Wanting the moon landing to be fake is no fun, but wanting a weather control contraption to exist is fun. If you’re going to believe something crazy you should pick something that would be fun if it was real.

They’re called cured meats because they may cure your ailments

The study did not include anyone who ate less than one hot dog per day. 365 dogs/year was considered the “doesn’t eat very many hot dogs” group in that study’s design. Doesn’t seem like a good study. It’ll be back in a few days tho
July 29, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Been like a month straight of different news outlets finding the “hot dogs are not healthy” study that just came out and then re-asking the most important question: are hot dogs healthy?

Is this a repeating cycle of businesses forgetting about and then remembering that email exists? When I got into startups the biggest thing going was collecting email signups because of Groupon. For a moment, having a million email addresses was worth more than having any paying customers.

It’s great that we’re way out here in the “picking dream candidates from all possible options” stage of how to defeat the populist despot and they are already starting with the “look we just have to accept this guy who sucks” moves

I remember hearing “actually if you look up the individual syllables in that word…” a lot in church sunday school and youth group type stuff

Humility is what one would expect after years of being wrong about something but their powerful aversion to being made to feel bad contorts it in their minds into even more powerful smugness
July 26, 2025 at 7:38 PM
I just wish that “just because we are late to agreeing with you, after years of scolding and condescending to you entirely in bad faith, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still be in charge of the status quo forever” was a thought that thinking it caused the human body to explode

Puff daddy was cool to sheltered white kids at my private christian elementary school. Those kids grown-up is who that guy writes for now

Saying “i guess everything is my fault!” when encountering a real criticism of ones self is such classic narcissistic abuser mindset I love seeing these liberals tout it out to defend their favorite geriatrics against the genocide they enabled
July 26, 2025 at 6:41 PM
The thing you said here makes no sense whatsoever to the person you responded to. It’s like your mind skipped tracks entirely. What a profoundly damaged worldview required to hold these thoughts in your head. Hope you feel bad a lot!
