Coincidentally finished Maus on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Of course it’s a bleak tale and utterly horrifying. But it’s also a very beautiful human story about family with moments to smile. I saw a lot of my own Dad in Vladek; the unspoken love and the exasperation.
