I tried looking into this myself and couldn't find any behind-the-scenes reason for the decision. (but I'll keep digging!)
Two of the biggest SPN wikis and IMDB list it as more or less an omission or an error, but maybe they just couldn't decide on a way to depict it in time 🤷
