Went and saw Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and I feel like I’ve been through the emotional wringer. I’m not a huge Springsteen fan but loved Nebraska the first time I heard it, and could strongly relate to the obsession and cutting off of people when deep into creating something.

I am so glad somebody on lobsters linked to this. It is becoming increasingly easy to dismiss little knowns things as modern fabrications, and it’s good to see contemporary citations being tracked down.
FWIW (& you may know these already), a few other bits and pieces about the "Some observations concerning large

Thunderbolts* feels cohesive in a way many big movies don’t quite, it made me care about some characters I didn’t think I would, it was funny at the right moments, and I liked the theme… and all of this is stuff that should make me like it more than I did. It was good, but it just wasn’t great.

Daniel Craig really is rather good in Queer, and Lesley Manville is utterly unrecognisable. I really liked it, but it starts off with a subtle sense of weirdness that builds exponentially as the film goes on.
