This question is brought to you by me realizing I've somehow never finished a King book written between 1990 and 1998.

You know a 99p spooky season ebook sale hates to see me coming!

A couple years after the big fade-out, my Film School Rejects email has finally stopped working. I've been trying to get all PR mailing lists moved over to my main account for ages, but a few things (like HBO screeners!) still inexplicably only showed up in this inbox. RIP to a real one.

I blinked and now Brooklynn Prince is 15. 😭

Just found this at the edge of our dog's bed and started to panic, assuming we'd somehow dropped a prescription pill and she'd had it in her mouth.

Reader, it's a sprinkle from a caterpillar cake.

Lest anyone think I've changed too much these past couple years...I spent most of my Saturday night making a bunch of pop culture watch- and read lists that I will surely forget about in a week, and it was SO fun.

And a rewatch 🥰

So far I'm taking the "just click on random shit on Pluto TV" approach to my spooky season viewing this year.

Here's where I'm at, give or take a couple that could easily move up or down. This is in relation to each other, not the music of any other artist.

If you're trying to DM me here, try Instagram (same handle) for now. Bluesky thinks my face is fake so it can't verify that I'm old enough to access private messages.

This is how Trump's initial social statement always sounds whenever a prominent MAGA person dies or gets gravely injured

It's been a good week for spoiling the creatures at our house. The backyard birds got peanut butter, the hamster got fresh apple pieces, the worm bin got the cores, and this lil arthritic lady ate a dog-sized grilled ham and cheese from my hand AND got a mini massage for the first time.

Tell me about your 2025 favorites so far. I wanna hear about:

-new or returning shows
-new movies
-older first-time watches
-documentaries
-foreign-language films and shows
-you can also throw in a book or play or album or some other creative thing if you want

She's finally home and she's doing so much better! She ate some tiny treats and bits of meat and just had her first biiiiiig drink. She's so happy to be home and perked up more than she had in days the second we came through the door. She's back to her natural state (snoozing) now.

We've seen the vet for heat cycles before and did a scan last month that was clean. We think the pyo started Thursday. If you have an older, unfixed girl dog who's not eating + is drinking more than usual, get her seen ASAP. Love you, Lola. Your favorite spot on the couch is waiting for you.

It was a brutal 24 hours, but she's stable and recovering from a successful surgery. The surgeons and staff, who have been incredible, have called her "a rockstar" and "so chill." We had to make a whole lot of worst-case decisions in a short amount of time, but we're hopeful she'll be home tomorrow.

Spay and neuter your pets, folks. Over a decade ago my partner's family didn't because of a tragic prior experience with anesthesia, and yesterday we almost lost this 12-year-old baby to closed pyometra - a sudden, often fatal uterine infection that requires risky emergency surgery. 🧵

Since I've started treating my debilitating symptoms from the past six months as POTS, I've finally felt good enough to start focusing more on what I can do than what I can't do. Case in point: I went roller skating last night!! I woke up bruised and proud this morning.

Forgot to say: I made a retro school locker-style Quark wallpaper a while back, if anyone needs that.

Long time, no see! In the past 3 months, I've been writing minimally + watching even less, but I have been learning to navigate the world as a dynamically disabled person.

Also: a Jon Krakauer phase, a U.S. trip, offline activism, nature therapy, and Minecraft.

I'm happy to be back. I missed you.
