Still learning my way around a proper camera, but it's a definite upgrade from the product shots I used to take from phones

Bought these in the sale season from Amazon:

1. OnePlus Nord 5: Upgrading my dad from the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. Chose this as I don't have confidence on green line issues on the rest. Will also be upgrading mom on the next sale.
2. TP-Link BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 router: Also overdue a router upgrade.

Some more product shots for the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro, with Apple BKC in the background. Love how they turned out!

Mumbai's cloudy weather became the perfect backdrop for the iPhone 17 series. Love the family photo, it came out so clean!

..to protect users from installing harmful apps, and Apple’s insistence on keeping things familiar at the risk of stagnation — it actually makes the iPhone 16e a better recommendation for them. It’s not for me (and mostly for you too), but it makes sense for them.
April 18, 2025 at 2:52 PM
It’s clear to me that the iPhone 16e is not for me. But for someone less tech-savvy, less tech-inclined, like my parents for example, it makes for a good recommendation. Add to it the usual iPhone bonus points like Apple’s excellent after-sales service and service network, better guardrails on iOS..

The biggest sore point on the iPhone 16e for me is undoubtedly the 60Hz display. I notice it all the time. I eventually got used to the thick bezels, but there’s no escaping the slower refresh rate. The lack of MagSafe also means I don’t get to use my favorite MagSafe accessories

What I liked about the iPhone 16e is the Apple A18 chip that’s pretty damn good, and its relatively compact size and lightweight characteristics. Its single rear camera is not perfect, but it reminds me of simpler times when smartphones weren’t so complicated.
April 18, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Yes, there are plenty of Android phones that do it better, and for cheaper too. But that does not change the fact that for some people, the iPhone 16e is the perfect device. This niche of people uses their phones as no-nonsense tools to get the job done, and that’s it.
April 18, 2025 at 2:52 PM
The iPhone 16e is definitely not the iPhone for everyone, but to say that it’s not a good phone for anyone would be wrong, too. The iPhone 16e works for a specific niche of people who want an iPhone that does the basics right without burning a big hole in their pocket.

Learning how to click photos, one news article at a time, haha. I really like how this one turned out!

...why do we want uncomfortable-to-hold, 'Slim' smartphones with sub-par battery and other compromises?

The S24/S25 remain are pretty decent thickness. The weight can go down, and their shapes could improve before Samsung has to go around mindlessly, shaving off millimeters.

Reading the leaked specifications of the Galaxy S25 series, I can't help but feel this way

Spotted users complaining about their iPhone alarm going off at the wrong time, and it turns out the bug has been around for at least 5 years at this point!
