On 19 March 2024, a Paraglider pilot took-off from rocky terrain near the Conor Pass in Co. Kerry, but as he jumped from the cliff edge, the canopy partially collapsed and control was lost. The Pilot collided with cliff face and was seriously injured. bit.ly/4peEqGY

On 15 September 2022, control of an EC155B was lost while while landing at Shannon Airport. The helicopter impacted the taxiway surface and sustained substantial damage, due to the collective pitch lever movement being restricted by a portable power bank. bit.ly/4ozK4nn

The AAIU has published a Report of an accident involving a BGD, base-ML Paraglider near Skerries, Co. Dublin on 7 September 2024. After take-off, the paraglider lost height, and impacted on the rocks below the cliff. The Pilot sustained serious injuries. bit.ly/43xgnKq

The AAIU has published a Final Report of an accident involving a Cessna T303 Crusader aircraft during a landing attempt at Navan Airfield on 6th December 2022. The aircraft experienced substantial damage. No injuries were reported to the Investigation. bit.ly/42Z3RTF

The AAIU has published a Report of a runway excursion involving a UK-registered Beechcraft 19A Musketeer Sport III at Milltownpass Airstrip, Co. Westmeath on 28 May 2023. The aircraft departed the right-hand side of the runway during the landing roll. bit.ly/42ghtcv

The AAIU has published a Final Report of an accident involving an Aeroprakt A-22L2 microlight aircraft at Cloongoonagh, Co. Mayo on 7 September 2024. The aircraft impacted a hedgerow during an attempted go-around and came to rest in an adjacent field. bit.ly/3XG0YVZ

The AAIU has published the Final Report of an accident involving the forced landing of a Partenavia P-68V aircraft on 23 September 2021 following interruptions to the fuel supply of each engine. The Investigation resulted in three safety recommendations. bit.ly/4ic3XNy

Today, 20th February has been designated as ‘International Day Commemorating Air Crash Victims and their Families’. The AAIU joins with @icao.int to remember the victims of air accidents, and the family members who have lost their loved ones in such tragedies. #AirCrashVictimsDay

On 9 April 2023, a Boeing 737-8AS aircraft tracked towards the left edge of the runway while landing at Dublin Airport. Use of the tiller to steer at higher speeds caused damage to the nosewheel assembly and airframe. The Final Report is now published; bit.ly/4f78Sxz

The UK AAIB has published a Final Report into a serious incident where an Irish-registered Boeing 737-8200 (EI-HET) performed a go-around which was followed by a level bust near London Stansted Airport on 4 December 2023. bit.ly/4fUUvwY
