The Miller Lifetime Achievement Award honors a retired scholar with a distinguished record of scholarly contributions to the field of the history of medicine. This year, our honoree was Jacqueline H. Wolf, author of three books & numerous articles on the history of women's health. Congrats, Jackie!

The Welch Medal honors outstanding scholarly work in the history of medicine. Out of a truly impressive shortlist, Elizabeth A. O'Brien won the Welch Medal for her book "Surgery & Salvation: The Roots of Reproductive Injustice in Mexico, 1770-1940," published by @uncpress.bsky.social. 🗃️

The George Rosen Prize honors a significant contribution to the history of public health or the history of social medicine. This year's honoree was @nursingclio.bsky.social for their "critical service to the profession and to humanity in the present political climate." 🗃️

The Pressman-Burroughs Career Development award aids scholars in transforming their 20th c history of medicine work into a first book. This year's recipient is Marissa Nichols for her project, The Backbone of Rural Health: Nursing and Indigenous Healing in Oaxaca. We can't wait to read!

The Estes Prize is awarded for the best published paper in the history of pharmacology. This year's award went to Michael Stanley-Baker of Nanyang Technological University for his essay, “Mapping the Bencao: Laoguanshan at the Far End of the Yellow River Corridor,”

The Shryock Medal goes to the best histmed essay by a history grad student. Emma Wathen, University of Wisconsin-Madison, won the Shryock Medal for her oustanding essay, “These ‘Children Won’t Become Women’: Depo-Provera, Intellectual Disability, and the Indian Health Service." Congrats, Emma!

Lucy Zheng from Duke University School of Medicine received an honorable mention for the Osler Medal with her essay, "Everyone Wants Our Cotton Pickers": Forced Labor, Unwilling Sterilization, and African American Mental Health at the Goldsboro State Hospital, 1910-1955. Congrats, Lucy!
