I want to congratulate Mayor Littmann and all the Annapolis City Councilmembers, and thank you all for your dedication to serving our residents. Annapolis and Anne Arundel County are one - and I look forward to working with each of you to make life better for all our residents.

I've known Jared as an alderman, a lawyer, a businessman, a father, and a member of the Resilience Authority. I am looking forward to now knowing him as Mayor.

That’s why we created the Anne Arundel County Nonprofit Center, to help nonprofits build capacity and continue their important work. If you’re able, I hope you’ll join us today in supporting a local nonprofit with a mission that is close to your heart.

In Anne Arundel County, these nonprofit organizations are not just supplemental services, but essential partners that help us deliver real solutions, respond to neighbors in need, and build the caring communities we all want to live in.

I'm honored to call Gavin a friend, and am proud of all the work we've accomplished together for our communities over the last seven years. I look forward to working with Mayor Littmann to continue delivering for our residents.

He was exactly who Annapolis needed on the good days and the bad. His compassion showed through as he led our communities through mass shootings, a global pandemic, and intense storm damage. He was an excellent partner to the county in all our work.

His creativity moved Annapolis forward in so many ways, my favorite being the reimagining of City Dock into a place for residents and visitors to experience the magical waterfront, with resilient infrastructure that will protect our communities from flooding.

Gavin paved the way for me when he came into office in 2017, governing in a way that was different and brave.

We educated politicians about the public benefits of commercially viable ag businesses close to home.

The work on these issues continues, and it’s an honor to be serving these farmers as their County Executive.

Thank a farmer, and buy local.

We fought and won against a reluctant County Executive to shift our barn permitting and grading permits to an agency that understands farming - Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District.

We supported ag education at Southern High School and pushed for it to be expanded countywide.
