When your systems are designed to be used by _normal engineers_, all that excess brilliance they have can get poured into the product itself, instead of wasting it on navigating the system itself.
Also: the smallest unit of software delivery is not the individual engineer, it's the *team*.

Even a third possibility exists: it could be the local time at the departure location, which doesn’t have to match the local time of the person using the interface 😅
