A fair division would mean 100% for Ukraine, 0% for Russia. Somehow I think you don't mean that. A completely defeated Russia would also help a lot for stability. At least its a lot more likely than a losing USA. But I think you only say all this stuff to not sound too much on Russian side...

If there ever was a time to apologize for being white in America, it's probably now.

It was a kia. I've read these are very popular in Russia these days. At least hundreds of thousands.

Czech seems very opposed too but is not marked dark red, nor seems counted. So I think it's 10. Great to see all these former Warshaw pact members line up to keep Ukraine out. I wonder where that sentiment comes from.....

Yeah this comment is so much better and will make that go away for sure.

Canada is certainly not a close ally. I don't think US has any. Maybe Israël and El Salvador.

I think Ukraine completely validates (not invalidates) our point. No clue why you bring that up.

You parrot the enemy.
July 12, 2025 at 4:37 PM
The idea of mounting a defense is to make invasion "expensive" and "undesirable". Even if defeat is inevitable you will get a better defeat or a better deal. Allies are everywhere for Canada (very much inside the US itself). But if your defense is total shit noone will send you as much as a helmet.

Serbia is simply a hot patato. Nobody wants Hungary 2.0. Support for the EU is limited and Russian influence/love is likely just as high. And most Serbians feel terribly wronged by Nato. Like forever. Its sad for these "young democrats" but EU will never happen for them.

Well at least he admitted Russia is in the wrong, because what else would there be to forgive.

They so cant get over the fact they lost to him. Trump will think the rest of his life about Joe Biden, whether he outlives him or not.

Most "allies" do not even celebrate "victory day". They call it liberation day, remembrance day, they dont celebrate at all as occupation did not end until the 90's or, whats pretty common, they call it Victory in Europe day. Only russia and former Sovjet states really call it Victory Day.

Anyone saying: "Someone else would have done worse." Means: "I really suck at this."

They are indeed grape hyacinths for sure.

I trust Ukraine to first drag this on to secure some US aid, then sign it to secure some more and then at the first installment break the treaty. Lately international agreements with the US seem worth less than the actual paper they are written on. Even Russia is more reliable...
March 28, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Of course Ukraine will sign it cause it needs the support. But don't worry, Trump made it very clear it is perfectly okay to not honour any international agreements whatsoever. The finger will come later. Probably after the investments are made and right about when the returns should be coming.

Maybe post a better picture to show how the gas flows because the picture still shows a route through Ukraine. Orlivka transit is even on it. The article does not mention that Ukraine is skipped. I can see a route further through Romania, but is it feasible and is that something Russia could do?
January 21, 2025 at 5:35 PM
You do realize that that picture shows a route crossing ukraine right?
January 21, 2025 at 5:16 PM
No technically it does not have to. The pipeline network for gas is very elaborate. And technically Russian gas can still flow almost anywhere. But to be really "sending" you have to have some sort of control and bandwidth. The 2 major pipelines into Moldova really go through Ukraine.
January 21, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Probably not much, but the political backlash might be disastrous and Russia will milk it with all its troll farms up till the next millennium.
January 21, 2025 at 6:59 AM
What really mesmerizes me is, how did anyone from Transnistrians quasi-gouvernment not see this coming.... they expect an invaded country to move gas around of its invader?
January 21, 2025 at 6:45 AM
But that pipeline really goes through Ukraine too before it reaches moldova. You can look it up on the map. So the gas must either go through Ukraine or it needs to be distributed and bought through the smaller distribution network of romania. Not sure how that works.
January 21, 2025 at 6:42 AM
The pipeline from the south into Moldova goes through Ukraine too. There is no major pipeline into Moldova that does not go through Ukraine.
