The whole premise of this being an improvement is that people won’t choose to pay the extra to turn a 50 year mortgage into a 30 yr. Also if you sell your house prematurely, the money you get from appreciation goes down.

providing downpayment assistance. Support land trusts or designate some properties as rent-to-own so that people can slowly build up their down payment. I feel for people who see homeownership as outside of their grasp, but this is not the policy to address it.

Even if you were to try and leverage the equity to do other things, you would be accruing equity so slowly that it wouldn't benefit you until maybe 20 years into the mortgage. This is a policy for lenders, not homeowners. If you want a smart policy for homeowners, look into tackling inflation or...

The proof of this is that we wouldn't have expected a single Republican in the Reagan era to agree with tariffs, or a president seeking a third term, or really anything Trump has been doing. But he's managed to get a non-trivial amount of his partisans on board with previously unpalatable policies.

reaffirms his commitment to achieving Democratic aims and promoting real change in Maine by endorsing Miller. After that, he can get the tattoo removed, do some grassroots work, run for State Senate and then parlay for Governor in about 4-8 years. (2/4)
