I think AR is more expensivr and difficult to do, tech-wise, than VR. It'd also look really barebones in its first iterations, whereas VR was at the point where it could produce more presentable visuals for marketing purposes

The gpus being sold to AI companies don't compete with consumer - or even workstation - gpus. AI gpus don't even have video outputs.
Nvidia will just switch manufacturing priorities back to the non-AI chips and return to pre-AI business, which was still booming by any reasonable standard

Doomerism is looking at bad things in the world and choosing nihilism in response, and the op is a criticism of the people that get obnoxious about it to others
