There’s a certain point where feckless incompetence isn’t a sufficient explanation anymore. You should be ashamed, but I think the democratic leadership is immune to shame.

I wouldn’t discredit a game reviewer who likes games that don’t interest me, but I probably wouldn’t take their recommendations. But I would totally discredit someone with, say, opinions on medical topics that wildly clash with the evidence or consensus of qualified people.

I try to if the subject or their claims are serious. It’s useful to know if the writer is also on the payroll for some agenda-driven think tank or is writing on scientific subjects without any credentials, etc. If it’s more opinion-based, I tend to look at how their other views align with mine.

It’s depressing how few politicians understand that “Look out for people and don’t leave anyone behind” is a winning strategy, but hopefully this win helps spread the word.

I hope I remember this tweet in a couple of years and think, “Damn, she was totally on point.” I find optimism difficult, but today certainly feels like a positive step.

Haha, you’re right and I somehow had forgotten all about it. I played it and liked it a lot when it was pretty new- maybe it’s a good time to go back through it.

Good points, and others have commented here with games that do those things well. My original comment was mostly imagining an otherwise “grounded” FPS where things began going awry, kind of like when your character goes insane in Spec Ops: The Line.

To be fair, a wildly hallucinogenic FPS where the scenery constantly shifts could be cool, if it were made by actual humans with deliberate design choices and a story-related reason for everything to be like that. Just not this, this is fucking slop, lol.

To be fair, it didn’t even work during normal times, which is part of how we ended up here. If the dems weren’t always so useless, it wouldn’t have been so easy for the far right to steamroll them at every opportunity.
