For my Fellow Minnesotans, tomorrow Jan 23rd is ICE Out MN. No work, school, or shopping. Protest where you can and stay warm. Let’s melt ICE together. #webcomics
Tiff and Eve have gotten home. They are removing their boots and jackets with visibly reddened faces from the cold. A protest sign saying “ABOLISH ICE NOW” leans against the wall. ~ (in kitchen) Tiff: I’ll get the kettle on. Elevate your foot.” Eve: “Yeah. I’ll use a stool.” ~ Tiff: (passing tea mug) “There was a lot of them out there.” Eve: (on phone) “A lot of us, too.” ~ (Tiff and Eve sit in Silence. Tiff looks into the middle distance while Eve drinks tea and scrolls her phone) ~ (reality interrupts) Eve: “ICE spotted going door-to-door 4 blocks East.” Tiff: “How’s your foot?” Eve: “Good. Let’s go.” ~ (Tiff and Eve stand in silence in the elevator. Tiff fidgets her fingers while Eve stands, eyes deadlocked ahead of her, with a protest sign.) ~ Tiff: “I’m scared, Eve.” Eve: “Yeah, me too.” ~ (Walking out the door into a crowd piling into the streets of Minneapolis) “But I feel braver with you.”

Eve: “Hey, so I was right about the band saw, which Eddie and his pinky are now acutely aware of.” ~ Eve: “How was your d-” Tiff: “VERONICA AND I GOT SUSHI TOGETHER AND IT WAS A DATE AND IT WAS REALLY FUN! ~ Tiff: “We got this spicy shrimp thing and sashimi. Her faves are tuna and seaweed, but it was all super good.” ~ Tiff: “She likes to travel. She’s been all over to New Zealand, and Europe, and the Waterberg, which is in South Africa, oh, and Seattle.” ~ Tiff: “And she wants to get coffee then see a gallery next week and I said YES! EEEEE!” Eve: “Hell yeah! Get some, Tiff!” ~ Tiff: “Gosh, what am I going to wear? It could be classy.” Eve: “C’mon! Let’s pick you out some stuff right now.” ~ Eve: “Hey, proud of you” (lovingly punches Tiff on shoulder) Tiff: “Because I finally went on a date?” ~ Eve: (Putting her arm around Tiff) “ ‘Cause I know what it took you to get there.”
